Shattered arm, pulled back from reach, Sits alone at the shore of the beach. Wandered from home, there's no one to hold. The aura that surrounds, is quiet and cold. Whispers of dread, they sit in your head; Pick a quick movie to drown it in bed. A feather's weight feels heavy as stone, I guess that's the burden of going alone. Many tough weeks where you disappear; In haste, unaware, you flee from your fears. Pressure wears, and it tears— That's the pull that you've known. Shadows stretch overhead At the peeking of the moon's rise. Stars to come out, but look to none; Stats that measure, yield a weary sum. Eyes too clouded, always on the run. A measure of silence—inhale as you wish. Let it dissipate as breath to mist. Answers dissolve like the brush of a kiss. Nothing new here, but now where to go? To carve a new path will require a plough. Twirls in your head, a light skims the sea's surface. What could be? Now, but not forever. It's been wearing the bone, Yet for purpose, you endeavour. Determined to fly— It's your opportunity; you decide. So you go again. At least it's the joy of life: To fail and yet try again. No road map for treasure. A heart beats—it's enough. The mind thinks—it's enough. The body uncoils, unstiffened; enough. Look at the sky crack, A light will sing. Solemn truth on the whispering winds, Hope that can hold. Let the living cling. You fall, and you scar, Yet you are enough. There's laughter in grief And gain in your loss.
Weary but hopeful.
Beaten down, yet still striving.
Feel free to share this with someone in the quiet part of their own journey. Remember to keep trying. That’s the beauty of life; there’s always hope to do better.
Psalm 73:26
[26]My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.
Drop a comment, share your reflections, or just sit with it. That’s enough too.
Your line : 'the burden of going alone' struck me.
Maybe because the reality of this life is that we ARE alone.
And the beauty of this life is that we are alone, TOGETHER.✨💙
The unnoticed work of survival...we are alone but together. Well said in verse. I like it. You are my 338th bedtime story.
